SilverFast PrinTao description |

A Photoshop independent plug-in
SilverFast is as a Stand-Alone application that allows you to perform Photoshop independent actions by using the provided SF_Launcher.
SilverFast installs a Stand-Alone application, called "SF_Launcher". It will be installed into your programs folder of your operating system. SF_Launcher directly starts the installed SilverFast Photoshop plug-in without using any kind of host applications.
Using SilverFast's Adobe Photoshop plug-in variant SilverFast version 6.5 Photoshop plug-ins require Photoshop 5.5 or higher or Adobe programs, which support the "Native Plug-In Import" function. However, the SilverFast preview will correspond to the final scan when PhotoShop 5.5 or higher is used.
Using SilverFast's TWAIN plug-in variant Use this plug-in type if you want to scan directly into another host software than Photoshop. Beware! No warranty on colour accuracy during transmission of the data into the host application.
SilverFast can be installed as a Photoshop plug-in, TWAIN plug-in, or both. However, there isn't a TWAIN variant available for all supported operating systems.
The SilverFast Photoshop plug-in will work with Photoshop versions ranging from 5.5 up to CS 2, and all versions of Photoshop Elements. It cannot be used together with Corel Painter.
The TWAIN plug-in variant offers to scan directly from a TWAIN compatible application (e.g. Adobe Acrobat 4 and 5, JASC Paintshop Pro 8.10 or later, Corel PhotoPaint 10, GIMP 2.0 or later, IrfanView, etc.). Not all graphics and OCR programmes are sufficiently TWAIN compatible and might cause trouble (e.g. OmniPage, Ulead PhotoImpact 10 with Microtek drivers).
