User interface and supported file formats
You are welcomed by a clean feature lineup that allows you to carry out most operations with minimal effort. The tool lets you switch to a full screen mode for a better focus on your work.
It works with the following file formats: CBR, CBZ, RAR, and ZIP. Files can be uploaded in the working environment using the built-in browse button, so you cannot rely on the drag-and-drop support.
The tool automatically generates thumbnails for each image and displays them at the left part of the main window. Plus, it embeds several handy buttons at the bottom part of the primary panel for giving you quick access to several handy parameters.
Comical gives you the possibility to go to the previous or next page, jump to the first or last page, rotate the image to different angles, zoom in or out, as well as switch between the single or double page viewing mode.
What’s more, the program lets you select from several page fitting modes, hide or reveal the thumbnail browser, set a custom zoom level, as well as use hotkeys (they cannot be reassigned). Since it doesn’t come packed with many configuration settings, tweaking the dedicated parameters proves to be nothing but a piece of cake.
Tests have revealed that Comical carries out a task quickly and provides good image quality. It is quite friendly with system resources, so the overall performance of the computer is not hampered.
All things considered, Comical offers a simple software solution and comes bundled with basic features for helping you read comic books, and is suitable especially for less experienced users.
