PhotoTree description |
|
|
PhotoTree organizes by grouping sequential shots together in the node of a tree.
Do you download a lot of images from the Internet and plop them in a hodgepodge manner onto your hard drive? Do you scan and save numerous family photos that you have trouble keeping track of? Is a standard image editor a clumsy tool for finding and viewing your pictures?
If you've answered "Yes" to any of these questions, PhotoTree can help you. With it, you can store photos in an intuitive treelike format. Each branch (known as a "node") of the tree can contain a series of photographs, which you can view like an automatic slide show by running the Play Presentation command.
If, on the other hand, you prefer to click through the photos one by one manually, you can turn the "autoslide" feature off.
Organizing photos into PhotoTree is a simple and easy-to-do task. Just create a node, then import the pictures into it and you're done. The program allows you to browse any drives available to your computer and select whatever pictures you want.
Once photos are imported into a node, you maintain full control over them. You can look at all the pictures at once with the Thumbnails command and rearrange them into any order by dragging and dropping them.
You can delete any picture you decide to discard, and you can copy any to a floppy or any disk from within the Thumbnails command.
When selecting pictures to import into PhotoTree, each picture is previewed for you to make sure you only import pictures you want. All photos are screened to make sure you don't accidentally import any corrupt images or unsupported file types.
If you wish to append to or overwrite the files stored in a branch, no problem. PhotoTree gives you that choice. The sequential file renaming is handled for you.
Unlike other photo viewers, PhotoTree organizes by grouping sequential shots together in the node of a tree. It could be an ideal tool for keeping track of modeling shots, for example.
Supported image types: *.jpg;*.jpeg; *.jpe; *.bmp;*.ico;*.gif;*.wmf
Requirements:

· Thumbnails. With this new feature, you can look at all the photos in a presentation and drag and drop them into any order you wish, thus altering the sequence of the presentation. You can also delete individual pictures which you no longer wish to be in the presentation. You can right click on any thumbnail to see its full-size view.
· Multiple Trees. Previous versions of PhotoTree offered the ability to use only one tree per installation. Starting with version 1.5, PhotoTree offers the ability to have as many different trees as you would like, limited only by your system resources. Through the new Tree Menu, you can create a new tree, select a another existing tree, rename the current tree, or delete a tree.
· Backing Up Trees. PhotoTree will now allow you to backup your trees to a floppy diskette or another external medium. (Note: It backs up the trees only, but not the photos they contain. However, the help file explains other ways to backup your photos.)
· Restoring Trees. As a companion to backing up trees, PhotoTrees allows you to restore them.
· Dragging and Dropping Tree Nodes.PhotoTree now allows you to move a node, and all nodes underneath it simply by dragging it and dropping it to a new location.
· Moving Siblings Up and Down.PhotoTree will now allow you to move a sibling node to a new location under its parent with the Shift Arrow key or with one of two icons in the toolbar.
· Reveal Photo Locations.PhotoTree will now tell you where it stores the photos you import into it if you choose "Reveal Photo Locations" from the Tree Menu.
· Count All Pictures in a Tree.PhotoTree will now count the total number of pictures in your currently selected tree for you if you choose this command from the Tree Menu.
· Help Contents and Revisions.A contents directory has been added to PhotoTree's help system to assist you in finding the information you need. PhotoTree's help has been revised and updated to reflect all features added.
· Import a PhotoTree 1.0x Tree. This command is for people who have used previous versions of PhotoTree and wish to import their trees and photos into version 1.5.
