Thumbnail Database Viewer
Thumbnail Database Viewer is a program with a pretty self-explanatory name - it allows you to check out the thumbnail cache; it is used by Windows to boost the display of thumbnails in folders, namely the 'thumb.db' files.
This is a portable piece of software, so installing Thumbnail Database Viewer is not necessary. It means that you can store the app on a USB flash drive or any other removable device, save it to any computer and directly run its executable file.
More importantly, no items can be found in the Windows Registry or on the hard drive after program removal. Plus, you can always have Thumbnail Database Viewer with you when you're on the go.
The interface of the tool is based on a clean and intuitive layout. Thanks to the Explorer-based layout, you can easily locate files with the DB extension, in order to view their thumbnail cache. In addition, it is possible to make file associations, make the main frame stay on top of other windows, as well as disable the directory, preview or status bar.
The simple-to-use tool runs on a low amount of CPU and system memory, so it shouldn't put a strain on the computer. It has a good response time and didn't cause us any issues during our tests, such as freezing, crashing or displaying error dialogs. Thanks to its intuitive layout and overall simplicity, Thumbnail Database Viewer's features can be figured out even by less experienced users. No recent updates have been made.
