BMP to JPG Converter is a tool that does exactly what its title suggests - it can convert BMP files to the JPG format.
This product does not need installation, so it is portable. That means you can place BMP to JPG Converter on a removable drive and run the executable file on any computer. Also, there will be no changes made to your Windows registry entries.
The interface of the program is based on a small window in which you can import images by using the file browser (the "drag and drop" method is not supported, but batch processing is).
In the queue you can view the path and status for each file. In addition, you can scan a folder for BMP files, set the JPEG quality (in percentage), as well as reset the status.
The software consumes a very low amount of system resources and hasn't caused us any difficulties during our tests. However, there are some downsides to such a simple program like BMP to JPG Converter.
For instance, you cannot set the output directory of the JPEG files (images will be converted to the same location as the source files). Also, you do not have access to more advanced graphic editing tools such as resizing or cropping the image.
Although BMP to JPG Converter offers a plain solution to image conversion (since you can easily convert BMPs to JPGs without using external tools), its biggest advantage is the fact that it supports batch processing.
