Various online services impose limitations in terms of picture size, mostly because it’s not really efficient to use a high-resolution image for a small section. Having to resize an abundance of pictures isn’t really a difficult task, but this is only if you rely on specialized applications such as PhotoResizer.

The application requires no setup to function, so you can see what it’s all about right after download. This also means you can use it on other computers directly from a thumb drive in case you decide to carry it around. Just make sure that the source PC is fitted with .NET Framework, otherwise the program doesn’t function.

Accommodating with what the application offers is a walk in the park, thanks to the organized structure of the window you work with. Adding files is an easy thing, with the browse dialog letting you select multiple files, which end up in a directory of your choice once resized, keeping the original items intact.

Picture support allows you to work with files under formats like JPG, BMP, and PNG, with output being the same as input, with no possibility to convert. There’s a small preview section to view the selected image in case you want to go over the list of pictures before making any changes.

As far as resizing rules go, these can either be set to proportion, or exact pixels. You can adjust the quality of JPG files, and even bundle all of them inside a ZIP archive. Choosing proportion lets you adjust the percentage to resize, while pixel mode means you need to specify output width and height.

All things considered, we can state that PhotoResizer is sure to come in handy, especially for resizing your entire gallery at once. It would have been useful to see a renaming component for fresh camera transfers, but it’s surely worth the effort.
