As the title of this software suggests, GIF to AVI SWF Converter is an application which enables you to transform GIF animations into video files with the AVI and SWF extension. Plus, you can convert GIFs to image sequences.

The interface of the program is clean and simple to navigate through. Animations can be imported via the file browser only, since the "drag and drop" method is not supported (and neither is batch processing).

All you have to do is select the output format and destination, and proceed with the conversion process.

In addition, you can play, pause and stop the animation, enable repeat mode and take snapshots.

But you can also configure output settings for each format. For example, you can set the frame delay and color for AVIs, bit rate and frame rate for SWFs, along with the picture format for image sequences (e.g. BMP, JPG, PNG).

Furthermore, you can resize and flip the animation, as well as make image adjustments when it comes to the brightness, contrast, saturation, blur, sharpen and color inversion. Settings can be restored to their default values at any time.

The program takes up a low-to-moderate amount of system resources, includes a step-by-step guide, supports keyboard shortcuts, quickly finishes a conversion job and manages to maintain an excellent image quality. No errors have popped up during our tests and GIF to AVI SWF Converter did not freeze or crash.

Unfortunately, the tool does not support batch conversion, which is a major disadvantage. Moreover, splitting videos is not possible in the unregistered version. Nevertheless, we strongly recommend GIF to AVI SWF Converter to all user levels.
