Softpedia Editor's Review for Graphics Converter Pro 2011
|
A powerful batch graphic converter, supports 500 formats and 60 image filters
Written by Elena Opris on February 28th, 2012
Graphics Converter is a software with a pretty self-explanatory title. It allows you to convert image files between several formats, including BMP, JPG, PNG, EMF, ICO, TIFF and TGA.
The user interface of the application is simple and intuitive, thanks to the Explorer-based layout. You can import photographs by using the "drag and drop" method (batch processing is supported).
So, all you have to do is press the "Convert" button, select the image format you want to export to, specify the output destination and name, and finally initiate the conversion process.
In addition, you can set the tool to convert the current file only, selected files or all graphics, as well as use a special conversion method for some special formats. The settings can be saved as default for further projects.
Furthermore, you can view a list of all graphics to import from and sort them according to the index number, extension, format or popularity before selecting them, as well as specify the default start folder with images.
Moreover, you can view the import or export image in a new window, create a slideshow and configure its options (e.g. enable auto slide and full screen mode, set sequence order), use a thumbnail browser and EXE builder.
But you can also capture the screen and set the capture size, select the GIF transparency color, as well as add various effects (e.g. rotate, flip, wave, mosaic, add noise, reflect, resize) and apply filters (e.g. color, outline, distort, stylize).
The program uses a moderate amount of system resources and includes a well-drawn help file with snapshots. No errors have popped up during our tests but Graphics Converter doesn't have an excellent response time. Also, its interface could welcome some improvements and the trial version is severely limited. Otherwise, we recommend it to all users.
