LuraWave Smart Compress allows you to convert the most commonly used image formats, such as Windows Bitmap, Portable Pixelmap, Portable Graymap, TIFF and JPEG to the LuraTech Wavelet Fomat (*.lwf) or to the new international image compression standard JPEG2000 (*.jp2).

The compression rate can be chosen arbitrarily from lossless to extremely high compression. Even truly lossless compression can, depending on the image, result in compression rates of 1:1.5 to 1:5. Alternatively images can be compressed to a given visual quality of the reconstructed image.
