We’ve tried so many codecs that we can’t really know for sure which ones are good and which ones do nothing more than to slow down Windows and break down multimedia files.

But we do know that x64 Components Addon is a great pack for those who want to watch movies and videos in Windows Media Center version or in video players that until now suffered from unknown errors.

The greatest thing about this addon is that it doesn’t involve the user too much, as the installer is just a smooth process that gets completed in a matter of seconds. There’s a settings menu also, that’s true, but in case everything works well you should really forget about it.

Just like its name suggests, this tool also works on x64 systems, including Windows 7 and during our test it indeed worked perfectly without any issue or problem that could slow down the operating system.
 
Since it comes as a 15MB package, you can’t call it a light package, but it isn’t such a big deal after all as it really manages to fix things on almost every buggy machine out there.

All in all, this apparently simple tool comes in very handy for all those who encountered difficulties playing videos on Media Center versions of Windows and the fact that it’s free makes it even better.
