APEX Movie Converter is a tool that allows you to encode video files of various formats, including AVI, ASF, MPEG, MOV, RM.
The interface of the application is simple and intuitive. You can import videos by using the file browser only, since the "drag and drop" method is not supported (but batch processing is).
In the list you can view the source path, split span, frame size, output type and status of each video.
So, you can set the output directory and extension, and initiate the conversion process.
But you can also configure audio and video settings when it comes to the codec, frame rate, bit rate, height and width.
In addition, you can preview the source video in a built-in media player, set APEX Movie Converter to turn off the computer when it finishes all tasks, split the clip by setting the starting and ending point, and more.
The video converter runs on a very high amount of system resources and takes a long while to complete a task (even in the case of short clips). There is no help file available.
Plus, the program crashed once during our tests right after we initialized the conversion process. And it didn't manage to convert an ASF file to AVI although a popup message said the task was a success.
All in all, APEX Movie Converter is a very unstable product that doesn't always deliver good results. We suggest you look for something more reliable in the area of video conversion tools.
