Bytessence AMVConverter is a tool that can encode videos of various formats (including AVI, MKV, FLV, MOV and MPG) to the AMV extension.

The program doesn't require any installation, so it is portable. Your Windows registry entries will remain unchanged but you can also place Bytessence AMVConverter on a removable device and always have it close when you're on the go.

The user interface of the application is standard. You can add videos to the queue by using the file browser (the "drag and drop" method is not supported, but batch conversion is).

So, you can set the output destination and file name, resolution, quality and frames per second. But you can also adjust the volume, as well as apply cropping and padding.

In the list you can view the source and output path, resolution, quality and status for each file. Furthermore, you can edit a task, move it up or down, save a log file (in the TXT format) and toggle between two languages for the interface.

Once files have been encoded, a message box pops up to notify you that conversion is complete. The program uses a low-to-moderate amount of system resources, contains a comprehensive help file and manages to finish a task in a very short amount of time.

We haven't come across any kind of problems during our tests, so we strongly recommend Bytessence AMVConverter to all users.
