Easy Video to iPod / MP4 / PSP / 3GP Converter is an application with a pretty self-explanatory title - it allows you to encode video files between several formats, including MP3, AVI, 3GP, ASF and FLV.
The interface of the tool is outdated, so upgrades are most certainly welcomed, from this point of view.
You can import videos into the list by using the file browser only, since the "drag and drop" method is not supported. But batch processing is allowed.
In the list you can view the number, path and duration of each file. So, all you have to do is specify the output format and destination, and initiate the conversion process.
Furthermore, you can change the video resolution (optionally add a letterbox to preserve the aspect ratio), adjust the volume, arrange videos in the list and preview them in a small built-in media player.
During the encoding job you can check out a progress bar, along with total and elapsed time. When it is finished, a message pops up to inform you if the task was a success or not.
The application runs on a low-to-moderate amount of system resources and includes a step-by-step tutorial with snapshots, along with daily tips. Plus, it keeps a very good image and sound quality in the output files.
On the other hand, the tool failed to read an ASF and 3G2 file during our tests. Also, we weren't able to view the image of the videos when previewing them (although the sound was perfect). Additionally, Easy Video to iPod / MP4 / PSP / 3GP Converter doesn't let you configure enough settings regarding audio and video, such as bit rate, sample frequency rate and channels.
All in all, Easy Video to iPod / MP4 / PSP / 3GP Converter is a decent program for video conversions, although we have seen others more powerful. Nevertheless, feel free to test it for yourself.
