PS3 Video is a freeware Windows tool that helps you convert popular video formats to PS3 playable clips.
The application has been designed to work with four different output formats, namely PlayStation 3, PlaayStation Portable, PlayStation Portable Go and SonyEricsson W580i, each profile coming with a set of predefined parameters.
Developed to be easy to use, PS3 Video comprises two different modes, “Normal Mode” and “Power Mode”, aimed at beginners and more experienced users, respectively.
While the “Normal Mode” is more like a wizard that guides users throughout the whole process by prompting them to follow a few steps, the “Power Mode” is a more advanced task with multiple options.
The settings screen is a must-check as well because it holds options concerning the output directory and the device you wish to play the files on, CPU usage for increased performance and dedicated PSP preferences.
The conversion process isn’t the fastest we’ve seen, but the overall quality of the output files is good. The computer is moderately stressed up, but this also depends on your settings. PS3 Video works with the most popular video formats out there, including AVI, MPEG, WMV, VOB, MKV, FLV and QuickTime files.
Overall, PS3 Video is a tool that serves its purpose on all Windows versions out there and although the interface still needs some improvements, it can be safely installed by beginners and those more experienced alike. It’s stable and also comprises a detailed help manual to guide users throughout the entire process.
