Decrypt DVDs to back up movies, preserve the original DVD structure or generate ISO or IFO images using this software application. #Decrypt DVD #DVD copy #DVD backup #DVD #Decrypter #Decrypt
Now a discontinued software product for Windows, DVD Decrypter is capable of backing up DVD movies to file while maintaining all video properties. Although it hasn't been updated for a long time, it can still be downloaded and used for free, even on newer Windows versions like Windows 10.
The application automatically reads DVD discs inserted into the PC and loads all titles in the main window, enabling you to pick the ones you wish to back up, the main movie files, IFO, VOB or BUP files, or everything. The DVD decryption tool is accompanied by a log window that shows each step of its activity.
Casual users interested in ripping DVD movies as quickly as possible shouldn't encounter any issues in this regard, since this process can be carried out just fine with the default configuration. However, those looking for additional control can explore the menu bar and switch from file to IFO or ISO mode for compiling IFO or ISO images instead of preserving the exact structure of the DVD movies.
In case of IFO, you can view region information, patch the region or remove PUOs. As far as ISO images are concerned, you can set the volume label to anything you want. DVD Decrypter also has features for erasing rewritable discs, synchronizing the cache, changing the book type, creating DVD MDS files, and searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices.
Additional advanced settings can be configured, like sending the DVD decryption tool to the systray instead of the taskbar, removing Macrovision protection, checking for structure protection, and hiding warnings related to the maximum file size, RCE protection, region mismatch, unset region, and MDS not ISO. Files can be split by cell ID, VOB ID, file or automatically.
Despite the fact that it's now a deprecated software utility, DVD Decrypter still manages to copy DVD movies and compile IFO/ISO images without any problems on Windows 10, according to our evaluation. It had minimal impact on the computer's performance. Taking this into account, you can either give this tool a chance or look for other similar programs that get updated regularly to keep up with the newest DVD protection attributes.
What's new in DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0:
- Added: Support for setting the read speed on AOpen 1648 DVDROM drives.
- Changed: Creation of an MDS file is now only 'forced' when ripping to a FAT32 drive (like how it was in 3.5.2.0), rather than when also ripping a DL disc. A warning has been added to the 'Create MDS File' option in the settings instead.
- Fixed: 'Layer Information' being shown in ISO Read mode when there was an empty DL disc in the drive - it shouldn't have been!
- Fixed: Hang on some usb/firewire drives (enclosures).
