We all have an ever-growing collection of media files that we like to play in our spare time or even when we’re working. MPlayerGUI is a front-end for MPlayer and it depends on this app to work.
The interface is quite nice and easy to work with, thanks to the intuitive layout, so users should have no problems with it.
The graphical user interface comes with the regular playback buttons, such as play, pause, stop, previous and next, as well as a repeat feature and a playlist creator. A volume slider is also available.
Some keyboard shortcuts are available for a quick control of the files that are playing through the app, but also for scanning through the videos and tracks. Some special commands can be assigned as well.
The output drivers for the player can be chosen, while some video settings are also available, namely for adjusting the brightness, contrast, hue and saturation levels. It’s also possible to pick a font name, style, size and color for the subtitles, if they are needed.
The app supports several file formats, such as AVI, MPEG, WMV, MOV, RM, MPEG4, WMA, MP3 and WAV.
The bottom line is that MPlayerGUI is a nice addition to the computer. Less experienced individuals shouldn’t have any troubles while working with this tool, thanks to its overall simplicity.
