No setup required, aside from .NET FrameworkAs long as you have .NET Framework set up on your PC, you don't need to install anything else. You can drop the program files in a custom directory on the disk and just click the executable to launch SubRip, as well as save it to a pen drive to run it on any PC with minimum effort. Unlike most installers, it doesn't modify Windows registry settings.
Convert subtitles in bulkThe interface doesn't contain any visually appealing elements, as SubRip prefers to take a straightforward approach.
You can convert subtitle files in batch mode by inputting a directory, indicate the path to the MediaInfo executable, and pick a destination for the new files.
It's also possible to add stamps at the end of the files, fix tags (if necessary), or convert the encoding method. The FPS rate is automatically detected for AVI files.
Evaluation and conclusionNo error dialogs were shown in our tests, and the software utility didn't hang or crash. It completed subtitle conversion jobs pretty fast while remaining light on CPU and RAM, so it didn't hamper system performance.
Although it's not much to look at and the options are not that intuitive for first-timers, SubRip offers an effective solution to changing the format of subtitle files.
