VIdeo editing can be simple or complicated, but it can also fall somewhere in the middle, depending on the software you're using. That's not to say that programs intended for power users cannot be used more casually, but thanks to so many options on the market, you're free to choose the software that best fits your use case.

One could say that VideoMeld rather falls in the middle of all this: it's not too complicated, yet it entails some useful functions for someone looking to quickly do some light video editing. Change the perspective of your clips, add some text over them, add some effects and transitions, put on some music to go with your content, and you're set.

Users can get straight to the point when launching the app: drop your video and audio files in, and start editing. The interface may be less modern than what you're used to, but it nevertheless works decently. Perhaps one may find the function icons to look rather odd, but they do a good job at informing the user of their capabilities.

For instance, perspective-correcting functions such as cropping, panning, rotating, or changing up the aspect ratio all communicate what they can do through their icons. The same can be said about effects, color correction, editing, and transition menus.

Though it's perfectly fine to drop the effects and tweak your footage that way, but you feel rather limited when it comes to adjusting it. I found that right-clicking the clip on the timeline, then choosing Effects from the context menu to be much better for that: with this, you're allowed more control over the effects and changes to your video.

Aside from that, users can also add audio tracks to their videos. The audio can be altered by using the supplied effects, such as the Compressor, Equalizer, and so on.

VideoMeld works well as a simple tool to quickly edit your footage with, though it may take a while for users to get attuned to the more peculiar interface
