There are plenty of programs you can use if you need a multimedia file editor. But if you simply want to cut a video in several pieces, Xilisoft Video Cutter can be the tool for you.
The program provides you with a simple interface, which makes it suitable for any type of user, either beginner or experienced. The in-built player allows you to preview the video while cutting it, which is really useful, especially for separating specific parts.
After opening the desired file, you have the possibility to set one or more start and end points. Thus, the application offers you the possibility to generate multiple video segments out of a single file and cut them at the same time. After setting the cut points, a preview of the segment appears in a separate pane. You can navigate through the set points in order to view their sequence and location.
The program also features a 'zoom' option, which can be used to easily identify the exact location for setting the cutting points.
Next, you are asked to set the destination path for the cut segments. After doing so, you simply have to push the 'Cut' button and the program does the rest. A new window displays the time elapsed and how much it takes for the job to complete. When the task is finished the application emits a notification.
In addition to this, you can schedule tasks for the computer for when the cutting process is over. These include shut down, hibernate, standby or just closing the application, which is really useful if you are cutting a large video file.
Also, the program can be set to run in the system tray, thus enabling you to perform other tasks while it cuts the selected video.
Although it does not offer many features to the user, Xilisoft Video Cutter proves to be a handy program for those who need a fast and easy to use video cutter.
