Star Media Center is a powerful application that allows you not only to open your favorite videos quickly, but also watch TV channels, listen to radio stations or broadcast clips online.

Besides the fact that it does a very good job when it comes to handling video files, Star Media Center is also able to act as a TV viewing program, working with most TV cards out there. Of course, you need the card to be properly configured and WDM drivers installed.

Additionally, the application lets you listen to your favorite radio stations, again through a TV card that uses the same drivers. Plus, it can very well open any DVD out there, but you may need to deploy additional decoders to make sure all discs can be played.

Last but not least, Star Media Center can play the role of a video broadcasting server, which means you can stream online TV channels or radio stations, but also on your local area network using the built-in tools.

The interface is clean and well-organized and not only that it gives you full control over the playing content, but it also lets you jump directly into the configuration screen and set up the application.

The “Broadcasting Options” screen for example includes multiple input and output resolutions, bandwidth settings and several other tools, such as a callvote mode, remote channel change, save a copy of the broadcast and start the application automatically as a streaming server.

Another impressive thing about Star Media Center is the fact that it runs on very low computer resources, although it boasts so many great features. It works okay on all Windows versions and has absolutely no problem to load on Windows 7.

All in all, Star Media Center is an advanced software solution that serves multiple purposes quite well. It provides an impressive number of settings and it's pretty easy to use even by rookies.
