Easy-Data Mediacenter 2013 (formerly Easy-Data Mediaplayer)
Easy-Data Mediacenter is a portable application suite that enables users to play and audio files, listen to radio stations, rip CDs, view images, use a search function for multimedia files, and more. It integrates numerous options and configurable settings for all types of users.
Since installation is not a requirement, you can run the utility on any machine from a USB flash drive or similar storage unit. It does not add new entries to the Windows Registry, Start menu or any other part of the system.
The interface is based on a large window that can be switched to full screen mode, where all tools are accessible in separate modules.
The video and audio players come with standard media controls, such as volume adjustment and position seeking. You can also capture frames, merge audio and video, attach pictures and audio to video, look for subtitles, as well as edit ID3 tags.
The radio station module allows you to edit station properties and record stream to file, while the CD ripper supports metadata editing. Easy-Data Mediacenter also contains an audio recording component (to WAV, MP3, FLAC, AMC, or WMA) and audio library. As far as program settings are concerned, you can make audio and video format associations, change the UI language, modify the screen resolution, and more.
Tasks are carried out pretty quickly, and the output audio and video files have a fair quality. However, we have encountered some issues. Although it uses low memory, the app has a tendency to hog CPU. During our evaluation, its response time was slow for performing some basic commands. Easy-Data Mediacenter frequently became unresponsive and we were forced to restart it. Furthermore, some improvements are welcomed in the visual department of the GUI.
