SGS VideoPlayer is an approachable video player that bundles a lot of useful options for easing the user's experience, such as brightness and contrast adjustments.

It does not include complicated features or configuration settings, making it suitable for all types of users, regardless of their previous experience with media players. The app offers support for AVI, WMV, FLV, MP4, MPG and VOB formats.

Setting up the utility takes little time and minimal effort. In the looks department, SGS VideoPlayer is pleasant and easy to navigate. Video clips can be added from file or folder using either the file browser or folder view (drag and drop is not supported).

Standard media player controls that you can use include pausing and stopping, seeking a particular position in the stream by moving a slider, playing the next or previous video in the current location, adjusting the volume level, and switching to full screen mode.

It is possible to view the original or half size of the clip, double it, increase or decrease the frame size, set the main window to stay on top of other applications, create and manage a playlist, as well as to make image adjustments when it comes to the brightness and contrast levels.

We have not come across any stability issues throughout our evaluation, as the app did not hang, crash or pop up error dialogs. However, its response time is not very good, and it is pretty resource-hogging when it comes to CPU. Taking this into account plus its limited set of features (such as range of file types supported), users can easily resort to more reliable media players that keep things simple.
