    Softpedia Editor's Review for VMCPlayer

A player for watching video from mobile phone and iPod on your PC.

Written by Bogdan Popa on January 31st, 2012

VMCPlayer is a simple video player designed to work with specific formats, providing just a few simple features to help it in this regard.

While we're used to more complex software solutions developed to handle most video formats on the market and to provide a lot of other extra tools, VMCPlayer relies on simplicity and does nothing more than to play a few extensions.

Of course, the interface is pretty basic and the main window provides nothing more than the usual video control buttons, such as play, pause and stop, plus a volume control slider.

VMCPlayer works with AVI, MOV, 3GP, MP4 and MPG files, all of which can be associated with the app straight from installation.

If you skip this step, there's no other way to set file association because, as we said, VMCPlayer has absolutely no configuration screen, which means reinstalling the app is the only way to do that.

On the good side, VMCPlayer works pretty easy and runs on very low computer resources, without hampering system performance at all. Obviously, it has no problem to run on all Windows versions, with no compatibility issues found during our test.

Unfortunately, VMCPlayer is way too simple and it doesn't even come with subtitle support or a configuration screen to let users change the way some of the features work.

Which leads us to a rather simple conclusion: VMCPlayer is a good tool if you want a Windows application supposed to do just that: open video files. Otherwise, it's a good idea to keep searching.
