Open Video Converter is an application that you can use to encode and trim your video files in a very simple manner.
The interface of the program is based on a standard window in which you can import a video clip by using the file browser only, because the "drag and drop" method is not supported (and neither is batch processing).
So, you can preview the video in a built-in media player, navigate back and forth within the clip and cut it by marking the starting and ending point (by moving a slider).
In the "Options" area you can specify the output extension (AVI, WMV, MKV or ASF) and destination, before initiating the conversion process.
But you can also change the video resolution and resize mode, along with the audio and video compressor and encoding bit rate. Settings can be restored to their default values at any time.
The video conversion tool runs on a moderate amount of system resources, includes a well-drawn step-by-step guide with snapshots for beginners and quickly finishes an encoding job while keeping a very good image and sound quality.
Aside from the outdated interface, the fact that you cannot write the start and end time values or batch-encode videos, we strongly recommend Open Video Converter to all users, especially to the ones who are looking for a straightforward application.
