Total Recorder Professional Edition will record PC audio or video from almost any source, including streamed audio / video from programs like Windows Media Player.
This video capturing tool can record anything displayed on your computer screen, including the full screen, a region, a window, cursor movements, and menu selections. Video can also be captured from a camera, TV tuner, DVD player, or other video device plugged into your computer.
With the Total Recorder VideoPro Edition, it is easy to record streaming video or webcam video from Skype, AIM, or Yahoo Messenger, save the output in AVI, FLV or WMV video format, and play the recorded videos anytime you like.
Audio can be recorded from any source including a microphone, line-in, or your speakers. You can use a connected microphone to add narration to your recordings, or have the program record any sounds the computer is playing. It is common to make video recordings of screen activities, but the option to record only audio is also very useful.
In addition to a regular recording, you can schedule a recording using either the built-in scheduler or an external scheduler. The built-in scheduler can connect automatically to a website, record audio and/or video, and close down the PC when complete.
One important advantage of this video recording program is non-destructive editing, which means there is no re-encoding and therefore no loss in video or audio quality. Audio and video recordings can be edited (for example, cut, copy, paste part of a recording, add an audio stream to a video file, or replace an existing audio stream with a new one), and then converted between any of the supported formats.
The latest version of the VideoPro Edition includes a number of new and improved features, such as the ability to capture FLV streams transmitted using HTTP (e.g. YouTube videos), improvements to the batch processing functionality, the ability to specify the monitor from which a window or region will be captured, the ability to specify the monitor to be used when playing video in full-screen mode, and other enhancements.
