When you have an ADSL connection or dial up connection to the Internet, the ISP you log in to will assign you a temporary official IP address. GetIP is an application that retrieves the official IP assign on to your personal computer or network by your ISP provider.

This IP is then send to you on your email, with this IP you can configure for access to your personal computer remotely, perform file transfer, access POP server, access newsgroup, bypass corporate firewall, etc.

GetIP is designed to allow people on ADSL dynamic IP to access the services of more costly static IP connections.
