Easy Hosts File Editor

Easy Hosts File Editor is a forthright software solution intended to help you safely edit the content of the hosts file and create version backups for fast retrieval.

Intended to meet the requirements of both beginners and more experienced users, the application features two different functioning modes, suggestively name d 'Basic' and 'Advanced'. You are prompted to choose between the two at each launch.

In the 'Basic' mode, the application displays a structured table where you can enter the domains or subdomains and their corresponding local or remote IP addresses that you want to be included in the hosts file. For your convenience, the contents of the table can be saved locally in XMl format and loaded at a later time.

When you are done editing the hostnames and the IP addresses, Easy Hosts File Editor can generate a new hosts file and save it to your computer. In order for your system to read it automatically, you have to move it to the default location in Windows and there is a dedicated option that can help you do that without a lot of effort.

The 'Advanced' mode is a bit different, in the way that you get to create a hosts file from scratch, without any help. Easy Hosts File Editor can load the current hosts file, enabling you to read its content.

Just like in 'Basic' mode, the changed file can be saved to the program's directory and the original hosts file can be replaced with a single click.

Thanks to its dual approach, Easy Hosts File Editor is very easy to work with, enabling you to easily map hostnames to their corresponding IP addresses. However, be sure to know what you are doing, since any modifications in the hosts file affects the network configuration and might result in the impossibility to reach a particular host.
