Remote Printer Manager description |
|
|
It is a sophisticated network management tool
Remote Printer Manager is a useful and complex network management tool that gives network administrators the possibility to add, modify and remove printers on any Windows-basedwork station on their network.
RPM's primary purpose is for installing printers on remote computers, however the futures that allow this functionality can also be used to manage existing printers on the network.
With RPM you can change the drivers of a printer, you can remove printers that are no longer used by the users and you can manage the TCP/IP ports on a computer so that you can, for example, point a printer to a different IP address. Here are some key features of "Remote Printer Manager":
· Add, remove and modify any local and TCP/IP network printers to any remote computer
· With the correct firewall allowances, you could set up a computer on the other side of the world to print
· Dynamic driver location support gives you an extensive list of printers available to install from the host computer, requiring no pre-installation of drivers on the client computer Limitations:
· This is a limited read-only version that can only be used to view printer information on remote computers.
· Does not support standalone network printer servers that feature more than one port
· Cannot remotely manage shared printing devices
