Remote wake on LAN

Remote wake on LAN is a software program which allows you to wake up one or more computers by sending a network message via LAN, as the name implies.

This is a portable piece of software, so installing Remote wake on LAN is not necessary. It means that you can store the app on a USB flash drive or any other removable device, save it to any computer and directly run its executable file.

The most important aspect is that the Windows Registry is not updated with new entries, and no leftover files can be found on the hard drive after program removal. Plus, you can carry Remote wake on LAN in your pocket whenever you're on the move.

The interface of the tool is based on a small window with a standard layout. The "what you see is what you get" principle certainly applies to Remote wake on LAN, since there are no other features available, aside from the ones visible in the main application window.

All you have to do is input the remote IP/name of the computer, in order to wake it up via LAN. In order for this to happen, the wake-on-LAN option needs to be enabled in the Power Management section of the remote computer's BIOS. You can obtain the remote name and MAC address of the computer, create a wake list from multiple computers, as well as save the list to a plain text document (TXT).

The straightforward software solution runs on a very low amount of CPU and system memory, so it shouldn't put a strain on your computer's resources. It has a good response time and worked smoothly during our evaluation, without freezing, crashing or displaying error notifications. Unfortunately, Remote wake on LAN does not give you the possibility of enabling computers to wake up at a specific time. The tool has not been updated for a very long time.
