Seamless setup and clean interface
The installation process is a piece of cake, as it does not take longer than a few moments and it does not offer to download any third-party products. After you are done with it, you are greeted by a pretty plain and simple interface, yet not very appealing.
It consists of several buttons, a few boxes and some instructions. As a result, all types of users, including those with no previous experience, can learn how to handle it with great ease.
Method of use and options
First and foremost, it is important to keep in mind that this application only enables you to connect to other computers that are in your local area network (LAN), being impossible to connect through a WAN.
You have to input the IP address of the machine you want to remotely turn on. From this, WakeUp on LAN can retrieve the MAC address with just a click of the button, or you can just manually input it. Last but not least, it is also possible to insert an IP and check if that particular computer is on or not.
Once connected, you can easily help a friend repair their computer or just teach them how to perform certain tasks. You can use your local mouse and keyboard for navigating the contents of the connected PC, a feature which enhances usability.
To sum up, WakeUp on LAN is a pretty efficient piece of software, dedicated to those who want to remotely connect to a computer. The interface is intuitive, the response time is good and the amount of resources required is minimal.
