Cisco CDP Monitor is an efficient network diagnostic and troubleshooting tool. It is very useful for network administrator and network engineer.

At first, Cisco CDP Monitor is a CDP agent for windows host. It is able to use the CDP(Cisco Discovery Protocol) which is a private protocol and is only used in Cisco's devices such as Cisco router, Catalyst switch and so on.

Cisco CDP Monitor is a tool that monitors and diagnostic networks.

With Cisco CDP Monitor, You can send the information (CPU number and model, host name, user name and the windows version, service pack version) of your host to the connective Cisco device with CDP, and you can get and display the information from the connective Cisco device, such as device name, device model, port which is connecting with, administive ip address, IOS version, and so on.

So the LAN Management Solution and the Routed WAN Management Solution of CiscoWorks 2000 Campus Manager can get these information and show the total topology of your network in graphics mode, not only the Cisco network devices, but also your PC and host. You can monitor windows host in Cisco's Network Management software.
