LANster is a freeware software application designed to be used on most LANs and allows you to search for files all over your network.

LANster is especially useful at LAN parties. Search for MP3s, game patches, picture and video files or whatever.

Here are some key features of "LANster":

· Added an option to include Admin shares in the search. Only users with the proper rights (usually administrators) will be able to take advantage of this function. This program is not a hacking tool and will only search in network nodes that the user has access to.
· I also added an option to exlude certain network nodes from the search and an option to select the date and size formats for returned files. The user can now log the search process to a troubleshooting file as well. You can set these options in the options window, which is accessible through Tools>Options in the main program menu system.
· Additionally, I have added a feature to manually input a workgroup (only for an NT-based OS) or workstation for the start node and also a feature to select predefined search parameters. These features are found on directly on tha main program window.
· This version also includes the ability to save your results to an external file as well as the ability to load results files. This functionality is found in the "File" menu in the main menu system.
· The loading of results files can also be accomplished by dragging-and-dropping a file from Windows Explorer to the Results grid in LANster.
· This version adds file icons in the lists as well as file type descriptions.
· Added several new skins and a customization module to tweak the skin colors.
· Also the user can now set a character set (commonly known as a font script) for the lists.
· The in-program help system was replaced with an HTML Help system.
