    DAAT description

A Device Administration Automation Transformation solution

DAAT will provide users with a JavaScript application that will help you access remote devices, configurable software/command executions, custom module integration and powerful log file transformations.

Managing different types of network attached devices (servers, workstations, routers, etc.) can be repetitive and time consuming, DAAT was created to simplify and automate these activities.

It applies standard system administration methodologies with proven open source software and scripts to create an extensible solution that centralizes and simplifies common system administration tasks and procedures.

Integrate and execute all of the software, commands, scripts and log files used to manage and support remote devices. Unlike many other remote system administration tools, DAAT is open source and doesn't use agents to communicate with remote devices.

It is pre-configured with proven open source software and communicates using standard network protocols such as SSH, SMB, etc. Device access data is secured via AES encryption and is only used when executing commands against a remote device. Data is only ever transmitted to the devices that you specify.

Includes modules to manage device access information, encrypt/decrypt text, cache Windows network connections (IPC$) and display a Welcome window. New modules can be added to extend functionality or simplify processes and procedures. Modules are Ext JS components that have full access to the API.

Custom transformations can be added to display html, text and XML log files using feature rich Ext JS components and XSL transformations. Integrating custom Ext JS components with XSL transformations saves time as it can leverage existing XSLT files provided by the software vendor.

The included Nmap transformation profile demonstrates this integration and is a great example to reference. Currently supports MSHTA, Firefox and XULRunner. Distributed with Portable Firefox so the only requirement is that it must be run on Windows.

Here are some key features of "DAAT":

    · Supports MSHTA, XULRunner and Firefox.
    · Centralizes management of devices, automations and transforms log files.
    · Secures sensitive information using AES or TEA encryption.
    · Integrates and automates custom software and commands.
    · Modular and extensible architecture to leverage and create new features and functionality.
    · Incorporates extended Ext JS data components with XSL transformations.
    · Data is only transmitted to the devices that you specify.
