    NS Query description

A simple GUI version of NSLookup utility

The NS Query application was developed to be a simple GUI version of NSLookup utility. It is a small, fast and portable utility which let you run name resolve queries from DNS servers.

To run a name server query you have to supply the next properties:
DNS Server - this is the server that will receive the query from your PC, When NS Query starts, it looks for the DNS specification on your PC and loads these parameters into the DNS Servers combo box, you can select a DNS server from this list or type a DNS server address directly into the combo box

Record Type - from this combo box you have to select the type of query to run, you can look for Mail server (MX), Host IP (A), Alias (PTR) or Name Server (NS).

Name to Resolve - here you enter the name you want to resolve (for example google.com or microsoft.com) without the protocol reference like www or ftp etc.

Time out - here you set the query time out, the default is 5 seconds

Port - this is the socket port, the default DNS port is 53, if you need you can change it from here.

Softpedia guarantees that NS Query 1.0 is 100% CLEAN, which means it does not contain any form of malware, including spyware, viruses, trojans and backdoors. [read more >]
