Wlipper

A computer program feature doesn’t need to be complicated or complex to be greatly useful. Take, for instance, the clipboard, without which you’d have to manually write down text again for copying. However, the default one only holds one record, but it can be enhanced with the help of applications like Wlipper.

A good thing is that you don’t have to go through a setup process for the application to use, with the possibility to store it on a USB flash drive and use on other computers as well. System registries remain intact, thus the target PC’s health status is not affected.

As soon as it runs, Wlipper minimizes to the tray area, with the corresponding tray icon being almost everything it’s fitted with. Anything already in the clipboard is stored as well, and simply clicking the tray icon shows you all options.

There’s also a set of general preferences you might want to take a look at. Through it, you get to determine the number of entries to keep stored, length, as well as the length of the tooltip itself. Another useful options is the possibility to keep text formatting intact.

You can insert anything from the list of stored clipboard entries. The text you want to paste needs to be on the topmost position, and this is simply done by selecting it from the list. However, you don’t get to configure any hotkeys, due to lack of support, nor even a special floating menu for more comfort. What’s more, there’s no option to export all options to file, and it’s a pity since history is tracked for a custom amount of entries.

All things considered, we come to the conclusion that Wlipper comes with good intention, managing to bring a minor, but helpful upgrade to the default functionality of the clipboard. Although it could have used more flexibility in paste methods, it can suffice for simple tasks.
