Softpedia Editor's Review for EssentialPIM
|
Powerful personal information manager to keep all your info in one place
Written by Elena Opris on February 2nd, 2012
EssentialPIM is a very useful software that enables you to keep track of all your private and important information.
The interface of the program is well-organized. You can get stared by creating a new database (in the EPIM format). So, you can create a new appointment, to-do list, note, contact, message or password entry.
When it comes to appointments and to-do lists, you can set a location, start and end time, duration (optionally mark an "all day event" or "exclusive appointment), set priority and completion percentage, category, reminder and "repeat appointment".
The "new note" features basically consists of a standard text editor, so you can select the font style, size, attributes and color, insert pictures, tables and hyperlinks, and others.
Additionally, you can view and edit dates on a calendar, add notes to root, as child or as sibling, create and manage an email account, import and export data (e.g. calendars, contact and notes from Microsoft Outlook), use assigned keyboard hotkeys, password-protect EssentialPIM and optimize the database in size.
Furthermore, you can hide read messages, change the layout (classic or wild view), select the encoding type, set reminders, change the interface language, add message rules, enable the tool to automatically save at a specific interval, backup information, enable spell check, lock the database when minimizing to tray, and more.
The program uses a moderate amount of system resources and includes a well-written help file (that contains images). We haven't come across any issues during our tests and highly recommend EssentialPIM to all level-headed users.
