Excel Server 2008 Complete Standard Edition is an integral information platform built on Excel, MS SQL Server, and Windows OS. The software is an easy application of MS Excel networked and EAI.
It uses Excel as a tool to design templates, produce reports and query data either locally or remotely under customized authority policies. And it could allow users to perform scheduled tasks according to predefined workflows. Additionally, it allows authorized users to fill, view and query Excel reports concurrently within a LAN.

· Data Fetcher allows users to freely use or query all the authorized data or records within the internal information system. An Excel template can define many 'Data Fetchers'. Those 'Data Fetchers' would greatly improve your working efficiencies, productivities, and reduce human errors.
· Data writer can use the data in current form/report to update the previous form/reports under some conditions.
· Workflow allows Excel spreadsheet to pass around according to predefined procedures based on the distinguished access authorities and roles. Additionally, in every workflow task, authorized users could get their intended data via the easily manipulated 'Data Fetchers' and update previous form/reports via Data writer. Therefore, Data Fetcher, Data writer and Workflow represent some of most important features for Excel Server 2007.
· Outer data source can integrate other database applications into excel server.
· In Excel Server 2007, public data (such as: Organization, Employee, Role, Event Viewer, Backup and Restore) is centrally managed; in contrast, Data Type, Data Selection, Keywords, Auto ID process, Outer data source could be managed separately; worksheets, accounting books and reports are designed and managed based on users' authorities. · A multi-table-query feature was added, which can be used to build powerful and flexible reports by users who are having the Report Designer role. Authorized users can use the query in both the Excel client and ESWeb.
· The execution speed for the cross-table and the tree-view selection is greatly increased.
· Reports can be re-saved in My Workbench without having to open them.
· A new alias option was added to the Managing Data Table dialog when designing a template. The alias will be shown in the data table title in My Workbench in both the Excel client and ESWeb.
· A new prompt option was added to the Managing Data Table dialog when designing a template. If a field was defined as mandatory (not-null) but was not provided with any value when its associated report was being filled, the prompt message can be specified. Please note that the feature does not apply to ESWeb.
