TreePad Lite  is a very intuitive, small yet powerful personal database programs, only 465 Kb in size. TreePad Lite helps you store all your texts, notes, emails, hyperlinks into one or multiple databases. With the look and feel of the familiar Windows explorer, editing, storing, browsing, searching and retrieving your data can not be easier!

TreePad can be run directly from a floppy, if necessary, including data. To find any article you previously created or imported, you can browse the tree, in the same way as you browse directories/folders in the Windows explorer. You can also use the internal search engine to find any piece of information swiftly.

Articles and nodes
The usual database programs are not good at storing unstructured information, TreePad excells at this! It lets you define and impose your own structure. 
All data is contained in 'articles'; an article is a text shown in the right pane of the program window. Any article is contained in a 'node' which is the most basic part of the tree (left pane). 
To find a previously created or imported article, you can browse the tree, or use the internal search engine.

Tree editing
You can create any tree structure you want! It is very easy to add nodes/articles to the tree, delete nodes/articles, move whole sub-trees around using 'drag-and-drop', etc. You can even copy/paste complete subtrees including all contained articles.

Hyperlink support
Support for plain-text hyperlinks to: TreePad nodes/articles, files on your local harddisk, Web pages, email addresses, newsgroups and FTP sites.

Multi-language support
TreePad ASIA supports most non-western languages, like Japanese, Chinese, Arabic, Russian through a feature called 'IME mode'.

Use your harddisk more efficiently
TreePad allows you to store all your notes, emails, texts, hyperlinks, etc. into one or multiple databases which use up much less disk space than storing your data in a large number of separate documents.

TreePad is powerful
The program might be small in size, but it is able to store tens of thousands of articles. Each article can contain a large number of characters. Articles can be linked to other articles using text hyperlinks. A TreePad data file can contain many megabytes of data. You can create and use any number of different TreePad data files. This means that the capacity of storing notes is only limited by the size of your harddisk! An internal search engine is included to find any data item immediately.

Portability:
· Improved portability: settings are no longer stored inside the Windows registry but in an .ini file.
· Moreover, settings can now be either stored in an ini file inside the TreePad program directory or in an ini file inside the Windows 'Local settings' directory.
· If you want to use the program as a portable application (run it directly from a USB stick for instance), then you might want to store the settings inside the program directory.

Settings screen:
· Added: a button 'Default' to change all settings to their default values.
· Added: an option to print page numbers (category 'Printer')
· Added: a category 'TreePad/Settings' where one can specify where the settings are stored: (1) inside the program directory or (2) inside the Windows local settings directory (default).

File associations:
· Changed: TreePad Lite no longer automatically associates itself with .hjt files on program startup. Instead you can do this manually using the "Tools" menu.
· Added: "Menu: Tools...
