When Microsoft introduced the ribbon-based interface for its Office products, there were numerous users who got confused by the new look since they could no longer locate the functions and menus they were familiar with.

Even though the ribbon UI was introduced to help users locate various functions with greater ease (as all menus were grouped according to their purpose), users did not appreciate the drastic makeover as this translated into decreased productivity, at least until they learned their way around it.

UBitMenu aims to change that, by bringing back the classic toolbars and menus to those using Office 2007, 2010 or 2013.

It needs to be mentioned from the get-go that the application does not remove the ribbon-based interface, but integrates the traditional menus within the existing ones.

Since it might not be identical to the old look they were accustomed to, users will need to take a little bit of time to get familiarized to UBitMenu and its new options. However, all the functions from the 2003 edition are provided, and one simply needs to find them so they can effortlessly insert tables or images in their projects, duplicate presentation slides or insert formulas within an Excel project.

The utility integrates within the most popular Office products, namely Word, PowerPoint and Excel, so users will be able to simplify their workflow and get work done faster than using the newer versions of Microsoft’s apps.

UBitMenu can help users manage their Office documents easier and faster than when they were using the ribbon UI. Nonetheless, since the app is freeware only for private uses, those who want to use it within commercial environments need to purchase a license.
