As its name suggests, Roadkil's XLS to CSV Converter only provides support for XLS documents and can only output CSV files. No other format is supported, so if you want to convert XLSX spreadsheets (introduced with Excel 2007), you should look for another solution.

Ease of use is one of the advantages of this program and the interface makes no exception. It only consists of a single window that comprises all the options and features, enabling you to browse your computer for the desired input file and set the location of the output. Optionally, users can set the program to include information about each worksheet into the output document.

Once the input and output files are defined, starting the conversion is only a matter of a button's push. The conversion speed is rather good and a notification message is displayed when the process is finished.

One drawback of the application is that it only converts the first sheet included in the input XLS file and during our tests, data integrity was affected, on some occasions. Batch conversion is not possible, so you can only process a spreadsheet at a time.
