ksFontViewer

ksFontViewer is a small-sized application that lists all installed fonts on your computer and lets you write custom text, in order to view it with different font styles. It's useful for web designers looking for ideas, as well as students who want to write and print projects, for example.

Installing this tool takes minimal time and effort, thanks to the simple wizard steps. As far as the interface is concerned, ksFontViewer adopts a normal window with a well-structured layout, which doesn't include particular attractive graphical elements. However, it's easy to navigate.

All installed fonts are loaded at program startup automatically, so you can explore the list of all font families and types. After selecting an entry from the list, the utility reveals sample text by applying the corresponding text.

It's possible to replace the sample text with your own, either by typing or pasting it from the Clipboard. If it's a longer text document, you can maximize the main application window to get a better view.

As far as font settings are concerned, you can personalize the text color, increase or decrease the font size, as well as make it bold or italic, depending on your preferences. Unfortunately, the tool doesn't implement options for printing information, nor for exporting it to file as an image.

It didn't put a strain on the machine's performance in our tests, thanks to the fact that it needed a low amount of resources to work properly. Unsurprisingly, it didn't hang, crash or prompt error dialogs. Although it hasn't been updated for a long time, it worked smoothly on newer Windows editions. Nevertheless, you can test ksFontViewer for yourself, since it's free to use.
