PDF Merge and Convert

PDF Merge and Convert is a Chrome extension that wants to bring the everyday tasks of converting, merging, and adding images to PDF right to your browser. If your work requires you to be constantly on the move and carry a laptop, you might find this extension more useful than a desktop app that would take up some of your resources.

After the extension was added to your browser, you'll be able to access and check out its features. As you can see, the add-on has a subtle panel that lists all it can do. Clicking on either option will open a new tab that contains the actual convertor, or merger. Once inside that new tab, you just have to drag your PDFs in, or select manually select them.

Don't let yourself misled by this feature description though. Converting any file is not an option. Converting Office files to PDF like DOCX, DOC, RTF, XLS is indeed possible, and it's even in the extension's site description. However, the function's name could've confused one user or another, so shining some light on this particular issue may save somebody some time.

Merging might be the most used function supported by this app. To merge two PDFs, just load each one into the designated fields. Multiple file merging is not supported though. Append the image to PDF is the third entry and it's simply a way of adding an image to a PDF.

The last function is designed to help you download PDF files opened in browser tabs. This feature might not be of everyday use, as most PDFs found online have a download option, but it doesn't hurt to have it either.

PDF Merge and Convert might be all you need to manage your PDF files, especially if you are working remotely. The extension seems to be stable and properly working, as there weren't any errors or issues with either of the functions, aside from trying to convert unsupported files.
