PDF Compress 3.02
PDF files compression tool
A tool like this is recommended when you have multiple PDFs of large sizes which take up too much space on your hard drive. Plus, it comes in handy when you want to store the respective files on an eBook reader, for instance.
The interface of the application is very plain and simple to navigate through. PDF Compress clearly needs some improvements, from this point of view.
So, you can add a PDF by using the file browser only, since the "drag and drop" method is not supported (and neither is batch processing).
You can edit the PDF version, author, title, subject, keywords, creator and producer, as well as view the file and paper size, number of pages, along with last date of modification and encryption.
Plus, you can set the tool to compress text, graphics and embedded fonts. After you click the "Compress" button, you can specify the output destination and name.
The program uses a moderate amount of system resources and doesn't include a help file. However, PDF Compress failed to deliver its promise during our tests, since it popped up the same error in most cases (with one exception).
We were informed that the respective file had been previously compressed and couldn't be anymore (even if we had just created the document). In the case of the aforementioned exception, we haven't noticed any kind of modification in file size. To conclude, we strongly recommend you look for a different application.
