PDF Scissors 0.0.2 Beta
An intuitive and user-friendly application that delivers a simple method of cutting out pictures and text from PDF documents without affecting the originals
The purpose it was created for is related to the way PDFs (especially scanned ones) are displayed inside e-book readers, such as Kindle and even on mobile phones or tablets.
The layout of a scanned PDF limits you in what the readability of the document is concerned, requiring that you zoom endlessly in order to be able to understand the text.
Having a utility such as PDF Scissors by your side is great, since it’s such an easy approach to handling the content inside a PDF document to your benefit.
It is a Java-based utility and doesn’t require installation, being brought inside a simple, yet user-friendly design. Most of the space inside the main window is dedicated to the PDF itself and to the functions that will help you get the most of it.
Adding a PDF file can be done using the dedicated menu, which triggers a prompt offering you to select which pages should be imported: all, odd and even, or every page separately.
Drawing the area that you want to crop is a very intuitive and comfortable operation, especially that the program provides possibilities to split areas vertically or horizontally and to set the same dimension for width and height.
This is helpful for multi-page documents, because by preserving the same layout for the cropped area, the chunks inside the final document will be aligned, which helps to improve readability.
PDF Scissors becomes a necessity when you’re dealing with a load of scanned document that are hard to read because of their quality. Once you process them with PDF Scissors, the chances of you being able to decipher them grow.
