Office Convert PDF to PowerPoint for PPT Free is a small tool that you can use to convert PDF documents to other types.
Contrary to what its name might have you believe, the software is not free (at least, not the full version), and it can't even convert to PPT files.
What it can do is convert PDF files to DOC, RTF, XLS, HTM, and TXT files.
The user interface is pretty standard, so it's easy to get around it.
Unfortunately, the trial version doesn't allow you to set conversion parameters, and it can only convert one file at a time. Conversion is done pretty fast... if it works.
We tried converting the same PDF document to all available formats. But it only worked with DOCs and RTFs. And text was not well maintained either because some special characters disappeared completely, and the entire content was displayed chaotically (in the RTF document).
When we tried converting to XLS, HTM, and TXT, the software found an error in conversion, and told us to install Microsoft Office 2003. Apparently, Office Convert PDF to PowerPoint for PPT Free (such a long name) only works for the last three document types when Office 2003 is installed... which doesn't make things look good.
This is a tricky software that doesn't live up to its name at all (again, the full version is not free, and there is no convert-to-PPT option), and to make matters worse, it takes up a considerable amount of CPU and memory.
So, if you plan on converting some documents, just look somewhere else.
