The ACF Notes program was designed to be a simple and easy to use text editor. As ACF Notes was designed to be used by everyone (from novice computer users, to veterans), we have tried to make things as simple as possible.
ACF Notes itself is based upon the standard Windows Notepad editor, and thus, does not contain many of the more "advanced" (for want of a better word) features of other editors.
Here are some key features of "ACF Notes":
Drag and Drop:
· ACF Notes allows you to open file's both from the File > Open menu, and additionally, by dropping a file on the ACF Notes icon (and if open, directly onto the editor).
Paste as HTML:
· This feature was added due to a request, and allows you to paste text you've copied from a website, directly into ACF Notes as if you'd copied it from the page's source code (all HTML coding is also pasted).
Multiple Documents:
· Again, this feature was added due to a request, and allows you to open multiple documents in the same instance of ACF Notes (you can then navigate them via the File Tree).
Themes:
· We have added 4 default themes to ACF Notes. These allow you to change the "look" of the editor.
Line Numbers:
· The line number column allows you to see the number that corresponds to the line you are currently on (e.g. 22)
Hyperlinks:
· When enabled, this option allows ACF Notes to auto-detect and "activate" hyperlinks in the current document (this means you can click on the link as you would in a webpage).
Time/Date:
· This option allows you to enter the date/time in your document in either long or short format.
Requirements:
· 16MB RAM or more
· 4MB free disk space
· Visual Basic 6 Runtime files
