Atlantis Word Processor Lite

Atlantis Word Processor Lite is a free version of the Atlantis Word Processor software, offering essential writing and editing features.

The interface isn't impressive; in fact, I'd say it's rather rugged compared to similar apps. However, it's not really bothersome, especially since I've been using Microsoft 365 for more than a decade, so the GUI feels familiar in that sense.

The program is fairly easy to use and allows you to create a plethora of documents, be it a report for school, a novel you've been dreaming about, an article for a magazine, or even a simple letter to a friend. Similarly to any other respectable text editor, you have all options there where you’d expect them.

I found the range of supported files quite limited and the default number one saving file option to RTF a bit strange. I get it, it’s probably the best solution to preserving basic text formatting like bold, italics, font styles, and colors, and making it a versatile choice for sharing documents across different programs and operating systems.

In the Lite version, you won't find fully-customizable toolbars, status bars, hot keys, sounds, or color schemes, including dark themes. Some panels on the Control Board, like Sections, Lists, Reveal Formatting, Selection, and Find/Replace, are not available.

Atlantis Word Processor offers a plethora of advanced features, including, but not limited to Save as eBook, batch conversion, backup, paragraph borders & shading, various text rendering options, additional plain text encodings like UTF-8, and the Fast Navigation feature for quick document traversal.

While Atlantis Word Processor Lite suffices for basic to average text editing needs, if you’re looking for advanced customization, formatting options, and productivity tools may find the full version of Atlantis Word Processor more suitable.
