MobiText

MobiText is a word processing tool that comes equipped with a modern interface and useful options developed to enhance user experience.

The main window has a clean and attractive appearance, and the application enables the creation of Notepad (TXT), Rich Text (RTF), MobiText (MTXT) and PDF files.

Standard command tools are available, such as undo, redo, copy, paste, search and replace. You can add multiple pages from the built-in Start screen that look like tabs, browse for word definitions on Dictionary.com and Thesaurus.com, as well as activate a spell checker.

As far as the font is concerned, MobiText provides options to change the color, alignment and formatting properties (e.g. size, effects), enable highlights, apply strikethrough, as well as insert bullets and indent.

You can insert images (BMP, JPG, PNG, GIF), current time and date, subscript and superscript, along with symbols from a character map. An integrated text-to-speech function contains two voices and lets you tweak the speed and volume level. Rulers can be displayed to better asses the page structure, while the frame opacity can be changed. There are several sidebar themes available as well, such as stripes and solid colors.

MobiText has minimal impact on system performance, using low CPU and RAM. It contains help documentation for inexperienced users and is pretty responsive to commands. We have not come across any issues throughout Softpedia evaluation; the tool did not hang, crash or pop up error dialogs. Unfortunately, its format support does not extend to DOC, DOCX and ODT.

Although the program is not as resourceful as more popular apps such as Microsoft Word, MobiText supplies users with a comfortable interface and essential tools for creating text files.
