SmEdit description
SmEdit - Multi-use Assembly Language Small Text Editor capable of handling large files
SmEdit is a Small Text Editor created for a general text manipulation and viewing.
It is especially suitable as a replacement for "Notepad", but it's abilities go much further than that. Unlike Notepad, it is capable of handling large files, can view Rich Text Files, and can be used for advanced tasks such as a simple programming editor.
All Sinner Computing Software is written using SmEdit! SmEdit also includes some unique features like an "On-Top" setting, which puts the SmEdit window above all others and keeps it there.
This is especially useful for writing notes while reading a document
/ EMail, or the reverse! (Referring to notes while writing a document / EMail.) SmEdit can also be set to automatically select fonts designed for certain file types.
Other features include 3 programmable "Run" buttons in the Toolbar, an "Insert Text" function that can remember 5 strings, external modification notification, printing, a customizable tool bar, a status bar, line number display, Unicode support, save and loaded file size display, time insert, goto-line, full search and replace, auto file registering (and restoring) for 12 file types (plus 2 customizable types), a unique descriptive icon for each file type, display font selection, customisable AutoSave, Word-Wrap, URL highlighting, multi level undo and redo, clipboard functions, Drag and Drop loading, default window size setting and a side line select bar.
Furthermore, SmEdit takes up around 100 Kb of Hard Drive space (including all program files and ReadMe) due to being written in efficient Assembly Language making it fast loading and suitable for all systems.
Limitations:
