Kindle Create

These days, publishing an eBook isn’t too difficult. For this very purpose, Amazon has already created a platform where you can easily upload your written content so that readers worldwide can access it. So if you have a book of any kind and want to get it across to Kindle users, you should probably do it now, for free.

But before you do that, you should make sure that the book can be properly displayed on a Kindle eReader. To achieve this, you need an application called Kindle Create.

This is the official Amazon app that you can use to make your material Kindle-friendly. When you try to create a new document, the program allows you to choose between importing a DOC or DOCX file (for novels, essays, poetry, or narrative non-fiction) or a PDF file (for textbooks, travel guides, cookbooks, or music books). Well, at least that’s how the application likes to categorize things; of course, if you’ve somehow managed to create a comic book in Word, you can import the document and edit it.

In this aspect, Kindle Create makes things easy for its users. In the left-side panel, you get a summary of your book’s contents, which are divided into three sections: frontmatter, body, and backmatter. If you’re working on a Word document, you can easily add or edit any content on any page, and the app even manages to make some useful suggestions. If you’re working on a PDF document, you can’t edit the document’s content, but you can remove pages, and even add other elements, and then export it all in a tight format.

Before you export your work, you can use the preview tools that show you how the document would look on a Kindle, tablet, or phone. After that, simply export the content in both KCB and KPF formats, and you’re all set to finally publish your eBook.
